W&L Library's Edible Book Event Sign-up (2017)

    3RD ANNUAL EDIBLE BOOK EVENT: APRIL 3RD, 2017!

    * Entries must be dropped off at Leyburn’s Information Desk by 2 p.m. * Voting with dollars ($$$) runs from 2-5:00 p.m. All $$$ goes to W&L's Campus Kitchens. * The announcement of winners/eating of entries will begin at 6 p.m.

    THE RULES:

    * All entries must be “bookish” through the integration of text, literary inspiration or, quite simply, the form. * Entries can be created out of anything edible (cake, grapes, pickles, whatever!). Of course, you can transport your item on something inedible…such as a plate! If you use any inedible materials, please note that upon submission (as these entries will be eaten!). * Entries must be submitted by members of the W&L community (faculty, staff, students, departments, student organizations). Families/friends of university employees/students can also be involved in the creation/submission of an entry as long as there was employee/student involvement. * Individuals or groups may submit an entry. * The University Library will not supply ingredients for entries (the Library will to provide beverages for consumption during the “eating of the entries”).

    THE PRIZES:

    Entries will be competing for 2 prizes: "Popular Vote" and "Best in Show" (bestowed by invited judges). Students/faculty can “vote” for entries by putting a dollar in an associated jar. The entry that earns the most money wins the “Popular Vote” prize. Collected money will be donated to W&L Campus Kitchens. "Best in show" will be awarded by a faculty member, or team of faculty members (faculty members with particular knowledge in literature or cuisine with be consulted).
