Runner Questionnaire
Please fill this out to give an honest expression of how you are individually as a runner. Have this completed and submitted before your first meeting with Coach Flash, or complete it only once you've read below and still think you're in need of a coach.

Please note: I'm not taking on any runners, EVER, whose parents wish for them to be the best runner in the history of mankind.  It's too much pressure for a child.  I don't stress winning; my athletes win because they're well-trained, better educated and they want it more than others, once they're both physically and mentally prepared. I only accept those athletes who love running and wish to do it for themselves, not for anyone else, as it never works out in the end for those who aren't self-motivated to begin with.  The athlete must love running and be mature enough to make the decision for coaching on his/her own, unprompted by the parents.

Parents, ask yourselves if your child is old enough to know what the heck they really want, or if you're trying to push them to live vicariously through them or just trying to give them everything you think they want. If it's the latter, please find a coach who enjoys coaching kids who secretly hate running, but are too polite to disclose that to their parents. I get clients like that once a week.

Also, if you are a self-dubbed "marathoner" looking for a coach, please only fill this out if you are willing to spend 1-2 years with me mastering the shorter distances (mile, 3k, 5k, 10k, half) before you build up to a marathon. Most marathoners come to me with a history of injury that repeats itself due to bonehead moves that could be avoided, such as only training for the long stuff and not listening to their bodies.  I'm not interested in coaching those wishing to continue to skip the proper buildup. I'm only interested in those willing to learn from the ground up and who will trust the process.

I promise those that do sign up, they will see success beyond what they would ever imagine, at any age.
