Casting "SACRIFICES: The Musical." Set in ancient Jerusalem in the final years before its destruction, the musical follows a poet, an artisan, a rebel, and a scholar as they search for hope in a world fractured by extremism, inequality, and political division. Sacrifices transforms an ancient moment into a timely and human fable about community, courage, and the difficult work of building a new life.

Production states "World Premiere / Musical is destined to become a classic, bringing people together and fostering unity and brotherhood while adhering to the standards of musical theater settings, yet adding its own identity. It adds an Eastern flavor to the contemporary American musical theater tradition."

Rehearses Nov. 9-10, 12-14, 16-21, 23-24 (usually 2-7 p.m.) and Nov. 30 (2-8 p.m.) in midtown; tech/dress rehearsal Dec. 1; runs Dec. 2, 8, 15, 16 at the Angel Orensanz Foundation in the Lower East Side.

A young poet and storyteller. Upper-class, imaginative, insightful, and idealistic. She sees possibilities where others see obstacles.

An artisan in love. Practical, hardworking, and grounded. A worker and maker.

A rebel and fighter. Passionate, fearless, and unwilling to accept the world as it is.

A geeky scholar and the narrator of the story. Academic, thoughtful, curious, hesitant.
