Roles and Responsibilities by Role:

  • Festival Steward / Visitor Experience: Be the main point of contact for audience members, directing people and providing information/enquiries. As well as supervising stalls and panels. You will also helping to manage tickets sales and overseeing box office operations. Stewards will receive a training session in advance of the festival so they understand how to respond to situations and keep themselves safe.
  • Media coverage: You will be recording the artists and performers on the day as well as the stalls and other workshops taking place and editing the material. As part of the media team you will also be taking mixture of behind-the-scenes footage and artist interviews. There are also opportunities to liaise with PR team on a promotional content in advance to the festival.

  • Marketing and outreach: This will largely be before the festival, your role will include a mixture of making social media content as well as engaging with communities of Young people across the Ealing borough. This role would require anything from 3 days to 10 days, depending on the role you commit to. From May through to 30th July.
 
  • Artist Liaison: One or two people work alongside the artist and the festival crew on the day, ensuring that the artist has everything they need to perform. They will also handle any issues and request that may arise.
  
  • Event management (site plan production schedule): keeping on top of the site plan and production schedule, making sure everyone is in the right place at the right time.  Some of the responsibilities will include maintaining a list of requirements for each zone, liaising with producers and site crew

  • Writing, reporting: You'll be given a good overview of what's happening leading up New Gen and what it's about, enabling you to write press releases for our social media posts, newsletters and print marketing.

  • Evaluation (this role is for both before the festival and after): This role involves research skills and monitoring feedback as well as conducting surveys and interviews. 

Most of these roles are quite flexible and can be tailored around your skills, interests and availability.
