Sea Scout Leaders Conference 2019 - Saturday 16th March 2019

How much? £20 donation to cover the cost of the hall and food on the Saturday.

Timings: 09:00 - 18:00

Dress code: This is a non uniform event but it is always great to see Group or team polos (for a start it helps me work out who everyone is!)

Food: We will be feeding you! There will be a bacon sandwich on arrival (or vegetarian alternative) and then a light lunch.

So who is going to be there & what will happen.

In the morning we will have a number of keynote speakers including UK Commissioner for Programme (Delivery) Graeme Hamilton, UK Sea Scout specialist advisor Sam Graviou and UK Activities Volunteer Manager - Andy Caffrey. We expect representation from the Royal Navy talking both about the Centenary of RN support for Sea Scouting and the new review process.

We are welcoming back the RLSS, the Drowning Prevention Charity and other National Governing bodies.We are looking forward to welcoming a British Canoeing ambassador with an interest in the environment and plastic pick ups; as well as UK volunteers talking about the benefits of International Sea Scouting.

We will have people at the conference who are involved with the Admiral Lord Nelson ASU, Deep Sea Scouts and the SS Shieldhall. All of these have been picked as mutually beneficial relationships. There will be time to informally network and build contacts. We know that this is one of the things many of us really value about the day.

The morning will be a series of keynote presentations, Q&A sessions and discussions. The afternoon will be centred around a number of workshops. We are finalising the details of who these are from but are likely to include workshops about the Permit scheme,

The day will end with 2 question and answer panels after each other. One will feature the various National Governing Bodies and one will feature the volunteers who have had spoken earlier.
