Foundation Director of Membership
Please indicate your choice. Shall: Help the Chairperson develop, implement, and execute marketing plans; Help develop and produce SOMA Foundation brochures and promotional material; Help the Chairperson review proposals for educational and philanthropic programs; Help the Chairperson contact corporations and foundations for donations while acting as Foundation representative in recruiting potential benefactors; Write motivational Foundation updates for social media accounts; Attend all SOMA Foundation meetings and receive all SOMA Foundation information; Maintain logs of grant and scholarship contributors and recipients; Send thank you letters to all donors; Carry out all additional projects assigned by the Chairperson; Work closely with the Chairperson and Financial Affairs Director on reviewing and preparing proposals for funding educational philanthropic programs; Add list of donor names each year into the appropriate categories as follows: Corporate Members; Institutional Members (Diamond Club, Ruby Club, Emerald Club); Individual Members ( Platinum Club, Silver Club, Bronze Club, Well Wisher Club), Update somafoundation.org site with these names; Send Foundation membership recruitment packets to SOMA alumni, osteopathic state associations, osteopathic schools and practice and non-practice affiliates; Devise innovative and creative tactics for Foundation membership recruitment; Maintain extensive correspondence with Foundation members by letter, phone and email.
Foundation Director of Financial Affairs

Shall: Act as a procurer of new funding sources for the Foundation and as a representative to recruit potential benefactors; Provide a funding request template for all National SOMA and SOMA Foundation personnel per policy; Work closely with the SOMA Administrator on account management; Work closely with the Chairperson on development and execution of marketing plans; Work closely with the Chairperson on reviewing and preparing proposals for funding educational and philanthropic programs; Attend all SOMA Foundation meetings and receive all SOMA Foundation information; Keep a log of all Chapter Grant Program applicants and recipients with approval/rejection status per policy; Send thank you letters to grant donors when applicable; Help carry out additional projects assigned by the Chairperson or other Directors; Work with SOMA Administrator and a Certified Public Accountant for yearly tax statements or audits; Transfer balance from Paypal account into Chase checking on a quarterly basis; Maintain money market funds unless decided otherwise according to Foundation Board vote and governing policy criteria; Work with Chairperson to create annual balanced budget; Keep and maintain accurate records of all funds deposited in, and disbursed from SOMA Foundation accounts, both hard and computerized records; Access Foundation checking account for disbursement of appropriate Foundation monies (i.e. scholarship awards, overhead fees, supplies, banquets).
Foundation Director of Scholarships and Grants

Shall: Act as Foundation representative to recruit potential benefactors; Write motivational updates and scholarship deadlines for social media; Attend all SOMA Foundation meetings and receive all Foundation information; Distribute scholarship information and applications to SOMA Chapter Presidents (via Region Trustees) and publish scholarship information on somafoundation.org; Conduct the presentation of scholarship awards at the Foundation Reception (Fall)/SOMA Awards Banquet (Spring) and distribute award letters notifying the recipients where to send thank you letters per policy; Send each scholarship contributor thank you letters at the end of the fiscal year (June 30) to maintain relationship; Maintain record of all scholarship applicants in folder under personal Google Drive tab; Assist the Foundation in the development of new scholarship programs and the improvement and execution of existing scholarship programs; Provide a listing of all scholarship recipients, including name, school, and address to the Financial Affairs Director for disbursement of awards and updating the somafoundation.org page with recent winners; Submit list of all scholarship winners to SOMA Convention Coordinator before each convention (Fall and Spring cycle); Carry out additional projects assigned by the Chairperson.
