A questionnaire developed by the Chicago Food Justice Rhizome Network, a group of passionate individuals and organizations across the Chicago region that collaborate on advancing a more equitable and sustainable food system, was sent to aldermanic candidates on January 19th, 2023. The full list of questions along with contextual background on the work being done in Chicago's food justice movement can be viewed here.
Aldermanic candidates are invited to submit their answers to the questions through this google form before the election happens, to inform Chicago residents on each candidates stance on food justice and policy matters. The Chicago Food Policy Action Council will begin publishing responses on February 5th, 2023. To give residents enough time to thoroughly read through each candidates responses, please prioritize answering all of these questions by February 5th, 2023.
In addition to collecting responses from Aldermanic candidates - all Mayoral Candidates have been invited to a forum, happening February 10th, 2023 from 4:00 - 5:30PM at UIC Student Center East to publicly answer some of the questions included in this questionnaire.
