Choosing Connectedness: Why Social Participation is Critical to Healthy Aging

The presenters are Annastasia Stevens and Connor Walsh from Calgary Seniors Resource Society.

During this meeting, you will learn why isolation is detrimental to healthy aging, and how to recognize some of the signs associated with social withdrawal. The session will also focus on inspiring older adults to find creative ways to connect, and will examine many of the benefits that result from maintaining a vibrant social life as you age. The session will end with some strategies for engaging loved ones, who are resistant to social participation, in meaningful and motivational conversations.
