GVAS Registration Form  -                        Birdsong Trail at Mendon Ponds Park Feb 2025

Thank you for your interest in Genesee Valley Audubon Society (GVAS) Birdsong Trail at Mendon Ponds Park on Saturday, February 15 10:00am. The event is located at the Birdsong trail and Wild Wings at 27 Pond Rd., Honeoye Falls, NY 14472.  The southernmost of the three park entrances off Clover.  Dress for the weather (we suggest boots since the ground can be cold even if there is no snow) Pre-registration is required no later than Thursday, February 13 by completing the questions listed below.  Be sure to hit the submit button after the last question.

Genesee Valley Audubon Society (GVAS) invites you to get some nature therapy by taking a walk in the woods for no longer than two hours. This trail is on a natural pathway.  We may have the possibility of coaxing a chickadees, tufted titmice and nuthatches to drop in your hand for a food offering of black oiled sunflowers and peanuts. Sunflower seeds and peanuts will be available at the event.  We will also be using eBird and the Merlin apps to identify the birds around us as we celebrate the weekend of the Great Backyard Birdcount (February14th -17, 2025. Please be sure to register anyone that you will be bringing with you to the walk separately as they will need to complete separate liability forms. We will contact you in the very rare occasion that the walk needs to be cancelled.  Note that GVAS rarely cancels an event due to weather unless there is a road closure or threat of imminent lightening.  We understand that things come up and sometimes you need to cancel.  If you know beforehand that you won’t be able to make it, please email loretta.morrell.gvas@gmail.com. If you need to cancel at the last minute, or you need driving or parking clarification call (585) 338-3712, the morning of the walk.
