We are awarding CREATIVE VILLAGE ACTION GRANTS of up to $1000 to local residents hoping to advance a community project that benefits the community.

VILLAGE DAYS
Crescent Heights VILLAGE DAYS (May 4- July 1) celebrates the people and places in our community, encouraging residents to build community connection and to build the cultural capacity of our neighbourhood. So far we have the following events planned and programmed: http://villagedays.ca/events/

We are awarding a number of CREATIVE VILLAGE ACTION GRANTS to local residents who have a community project they would like to coordinate. This will enable residents to celebrate the spaces in this community and get to know the other 6,235 residents that make up Crescent Heights. The grants will help residents transform their ideas, big or small, into action!

GRANTING PROCESS

Process: The Crescent Heights Community Association Engagement Committee will review the application and work with applicants to ensure all information is provided. The Engagement Committee will then review the application and recommend whether or not the grant should be awarded.

Criteria: Grants are awarded based on:
-Project fits with Crescent Heights Community Association’s mandate in building community-focused programming for the 6,235 residents that live in the area.
-Project is Crescent Heights community- oriented (projects from outside our community are not our focus)
-Preference will be given to applicants who attended Community Building through Placemaking workshop(s)
-Number of community collaborations included in the work.
-The demonstrated ability to use the budget and community resources.
-The potential long-term impacts of the issues being addressed.
-Project needs to be grassroots (applicants do not need to be an incorporated not-for-profit or registered charity).
-Project cannot be for-profit.
-Project cannot primarily be a fundraiser.
-Projects CAN NOT be produced on any of the following dates: May 4 or July 1.
-Grants are awarded up to $1000. Projects do not need to apply for the full $1000.
-Projects must agree to promote VILLAGE DAYS as part of their project promotion.
-The grant recipient will manage their project and submit a written report by July 31, 2018. The report will include: a brief report detailing the actions of the event/project, attendance, positive and negative outcomes and provide receipts, budget usage and documentation.
