Paycheck Protection Program (PPP): Survey for Commercial Fishermen
The Monterey Bay Fisheries Trust (MBFT) is working with California FarmLink to compile and share information about applying for a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan with the goal of making it easier for fishermen to apply before the May 31st deadline. If you have received a PPP loan, please help us understand your experience - what worked, what didn't work, and what advice you would give to other fishermen thinking of applying. If you have not yet applied, but are interested in applying, please indicate this in the survey. You can remain anonymous - either way, we will keep your responses confidential. The survey should take less than 5 minutes.

Thank you for your help!

WHAT IS THE PAYCHECK PROTECTION PROGRAM? The PPP is an SBA-backed loan that helps businesses keep their workforce employed during the COVID-19 crisis. Fishing boat owners can count their 1099 crew as part of their payroll calculations. The PPP loan can be forgiven, and borrowers can apply for forgiveness any time up to the maturity date of the loan.
