The two-day GGCA Forum at COP22 will take place in Marrakech, Morocco from November 12-13th in order to: 1) Review the path to Marrakech in ensuring gender-responsive climate policy and the impact of the multiple strategies of the GGCA Alliance, programs under the joint initiative, its members / donors as well as create a space to dialogue as GGCA members on the next steps of the Alliance; 2) Strategize on enhanced implementation of gender-responsive climate policy through presentations, breakout sessions, and skills-sharing led by GGCA members for policy-makers and leaders; 3) Highlight innovation in implementation by showcasing work by GGCA members through case studies and feature the GGCA SEED Grants, recognizing the finalists of the Innovation Awards.
Forum participants will include GGCA members, organizational partners, champions, donors, and students.
Each travel grant includes economy-class airfare, traveler’s insurance, shared accommodation, and Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) at a rate of $50 USD for each day from November 11-14th.
Individuals who receive the Travel Grants will attend the GGCA Forum as members and representatives of the GGCA and of their own regions / networks / alliances / communities, and engage effectively with allies, partners, donors, students, and other forum participants. Recipients should be able to demonstrate clearly how participation in GGCA Forum will have impacts on their personal and professional work for gender and climate change.
Recipients will be expected to actively participate and contribute during the plenaries, skills sessions and learning exchanges. Recipients may also be called to participate in preparatory meetings or forum calls prior to and during the forum. After the forum, recipients will be asked to complete an evaluation survey providing feedback on the process and the GGCA Forum.
Applicants must be part of the GGCA Membership, represent civil society, and represent communities/alliances from the Global South in order to be considered for the GGCA Forum Travel Grants. Applicants must be able to travel to Marrakech, Morocco from November 11-14th and be available for the full two-day GGCA Forum on November 12th and 13th. Applicants will be selected to ensure diverse representation of regions, experience, and networks. Individuals representing indigenous, youth, migrant networks and/or communities at the frontlines of climate change are encouraged to apply. Application forms are in English and must be completed and submitted in English.
