I refer to the Free State Provincial Gazette Number 65 on 28 October 2022 with the intent to declare the Eeram Protected Environment.
I hereby show my support for the declaration of the Eeram Protected Environment.
This area, located in the northeastern Free State Province is 7 398 hectares in size and its declaration as a protected environment will benefit local biodiversity, landowners and the broader community. The declaration will also ensure the protection of the habitats such as intact grasslands that secure the services that they provide, such as carbon sequestration and mitigation against extreme weather events such as flooding and drought, while still allowing for sustainable use through agriculture.
I commend the vision you have shown through this intended declaration and look forward to continuing to contribute towards this critically important process.
