Honors in Biology Planner
Honors in Biology leads to completion of the HBS or HBA degree in Biology through relevant coursework, participation in a research lab for at least three semesters, presentation of results in a public forum such as the Undergraduate Research Symposium hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Research, and preparation of a written Honors Thesis. As an Honors Student you are expected to show up with a positive attitude and dedicate full effort to the best of your abilities while undertaking this rigorous endeavor. Your selected research advisor commits to support you through engaged mentoring in the following areas: demonstration of lab technique and safety, advice on experimental design, interpretation of data, organization of ideas, writing and editing of the Honors Thesis. The Honors Thesis is expected to be a substantial document demonstrating skillful communication of ideas and scholarship.
