FALL 2017 & SPRING 2018 TERMS
The Fall 2017 Term will begin on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 and will end on Tuesday, December 19, 2017

The Spring 2018 Term will begin on Friday, January 5, 2018 and will end on Tuesday, May 15th

PLEASE NOTE:
There will be NO classes during Tech Week for our production of THE NUTCRACKER (November 6th-12th). Classes will resume on a regular schedule on Monday, November 13th.

There will be NO classes during Thanksgiving week (November 20th-26th). Classes will resume on a regular schedule on Monday, November 27th.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS & FEES
Every person who REGISTERS for class(es), TRIES a class to see if they want to register, or takes a DROP-IN class by CASH or DANCE CARD MUST COMPLETE the Registration process and SIGN the studio waivers.

A NON-REFUNDABLE Annual Registration Fee (one per family) of $35 is due EACH FALL when you enroll in classes at Morgantown Dance Studio. This registration fee MUST be paid to reserve your dancer's space in a class or classes and may be paid by cash, check, or credit card at the studio, or paid online through PayPal by clicking on the PAY BUTTON on our Registration Page. This registration fee covers your immediate family for the Fall 2017, Spring 2018, and Summer 2018 dance terms

If you do not begin taking classes until the Spring term, a NON-REFUNDABLE Annual Registration Fee (one per family) of $25 is due EACH SPRING.

If you do not begin taking classes until the Summer term, a NON-REFUNDABLE Annual Registration Fee (one per family) of $15 is due EACH SUMMER.

Dancers wishing to try a class before committing to registering for the full term will need to pay a $10 NON-REFUNDABLE Registration Fee. If you then join classes, the $10 will be applied to the $35 registration fee.

Dancers who need the flexibility of the DROP-IN option need to pay a $10 NON-REFUNDABLE Registration Fee.

The Registration Fee is due no later than Saturday, August 26th to secure your spot in the class(es).

NOTES ABOUT AGES & CLASS LEVELS
ALL OF THE AGES LISTED FOR CLASSES ARE GUIDELINES AND ARE NOT STRICTLY ADHERED TO IF THE INSTRUCTOR BELIEVES THE DANCER'S TALENT AND ABILITY PLACES THEM IN A DIFFERENT LEVEL THAN THAT IDENTIFIED BY THE DANCER'S AGE ONLY.

All MDS , ages 7 & up, are required to register for placement for Ballet, Pointe, AcroFlex, Irish, Jazz, Modern, and Tap

FOUNDATIONS AND GROWN UP & ME REQUIREMENTS
Age Requirements for Foundations Classes (AGES 2-7 YEARS OLD):
GROWN-UP & ME: Students should be age 2 on or before September 1, 2017.
Foundations Level I classes: Students should be age 3 on or BEFORE September 1, 2017.
Foundations Level II classes: Students should be age 5 on or BEFORE September 1, 2017.

Foundations classes are developed as full-year programs that continue to build from the Fall into the Spring.

Those students who start out as 3 & 4 year olds in Foundations Level I classes become leaders in these classes as 4 & 5 year olds. Those students who start out as 5 & 6 year olds in Foundations Level II classes become leaders in these classes as 6 & 7 year olds.
NOTES ABOUT PLACEMENT CLASSES
All MDS dancers, ages 7 & up, are required to register for placement classes for Ballet, Pointe, AcroFlex, Irish, Jazz, Modern, and Tap. If the dancer has been in an instructor's class previously, and the instructor feels they do not need to see the dancer at the placement session for that specific genre, the dancer will be notified of the level that they should be registered for without attending the specific placement session.

A Note about BALLET LEVELS & BELTS
NOTES ABOUT BALLET CLASSES
Beginner's Ballet is for those students who have little to no ballet experience, for those who want to work on the basics of ballet technique, or for those who want to take a class for the fun and exercise offered by the art of ballet.


Please pay attention to Ballet Level Designation when you are choosing the classes to register. Our ballet levels are listed below:
Foundations of Ballet I (ages 3-5) - Pink Skirted Leotard
Foundations of Ballet II (ages 5-7) - Black Skirt Leotard
Beginner's Ballet - Maroon/Burgandy Belt
PD I Ballet - White Belt
PD II Ballet - Yellow Belt
Ballet I - Pale Pink Belt
Ballet I/II - Lilac Belt
Ballet II - Pale Blue Belt
Ballet II/III - Magenta/Dark Pink Belt
Ballet III - Royal Blue Belt
Ballet III/IV - Red Belt
Ballet IV - Teal Belt
Ballet IV/V - Purple Belt

Each dancer will be provided a ballet belt designating their ballet level and the belt is to be worn to each class. If the dancer need a new belt for the same level, a replacement belt can be purchased in the studio for $10

TUITION & FEES
At MDS, the cost of tuition is based on $13 per hour of instruction. The Fall term lasts for 14 weeks and the Spring terms lasts for 18 weeks.

Students cannot register for individual classes, but can attend some classes (NOT FOUNDATIONS CLASSES) as a drop-in student by paying ($15 per hour) the night of the class or by pre-purchasing a dance card ($14 per hour) for anticipated drop-in classes. Dance cards are good to be redeemed for 1 year from the date of purchase. You may only drop-in to a class that is NOT FULL.

Boys/Men ages 7 & Up must pay the registration fee, but take ballet classes for FREE and all other dance genre classes for a half-price discount.

EXAMPLES of Fall Tuition
For registered students, a 30 minute class will cost $7 per class/$91 per semester
a 45 minute class will cost $10 per class/$137 per semester
a 1 hour class will cost $13 per class/$182 per semester
a 1 hour, 15 minute class will cost $16 per class/$228 per semester
a 1 hour, 30 minute class will cost $20 per class/$273 per semester
a 1 hour, 45 minute class will cost $23 per class/$319 per semester

For students with a Dance Card, a 30 minute class will cost $7
a 45 minute class will cost $11
a 1 hour class will cost $14
a 1 hour, 15 minute class will cost $18
a 1 hour, 30 minute class will cost $21
a 1 hour, 45 minute class will cost $25

For Drop-In students, a 30 minute class will cost $8
a 45 minute class will cost $11
a 1 hour class will cost $15
a 1 hour, 15 minute class will cost $19
a 1 hour, 30 minute class will cost $23
a 1 hour, 45 minute class will cost $26

College/University students will receive a 10% class discount off total term tuition
Current/former military students/families will receive a 10% discount off total term tuition
Tuition paid in full for the term by the due date will receive a 5% discount off the full term tuition
Students/families signing up for multiple hours may receive discounts based on the number of hours taken

PAYMENT OPTIONS & REQUIREMENTS

An account that is paid in full by the end of the 3rd week of classes will receive a 5% discount of total term tuition

Fall & Spring Tuition can be divided into the following payment options:
- One (1) FULL YEAR payment PAID IN FULL no later than Saturday, September 23, 2017
- One (1) FALL payment PAID IN FULL no later than Saturday, September 23, 2017 AND One (1) SPRING payment PAID IN
FULL no later than Saturday, January 27, 2018
- Two (2) payments per term (September & November; January & March)
- Three (3) payments per term (September, October, & November; January, March, & May )
- Four (4) payments per term (September, October, November, & December; January, February, March, & April)

A payment is due by the first of each month prior to taking classes.
If your payment is late, a 10% late fee will be assessed.
You may choose to pay by cash, check, or credit/debit card at the Studio, or you may choose to receive and pay online by PayPal invoice(s) using a credit/debit card or a PayPal account.

WHAT LEVEL SHOULD I REGISTER FOR?
Yes, we are registering for classes prior to placement as we were not able to hold EARLY placement at this time. Please register for the level of the class your dancer is in currently. If that level changes, you will be moved to the class of your choice in the correct level in the order in which you registered.

If you are coming to placements as a 7 year old that might possibly continue in the Foundations classes for the Fall, please be sure to register your child for the Foundations class of your choice to make sure you don't lose a spot.

Registration secures you/your dancers spot in the selected classes for both the Fall 2017 & the Spring 2018 terms. However, if you choose not to continue taking classes into the Spring term, you will not be charged for those classes and your spot in the class will open for another dancer to fill.
