KLD 2019 Coach Application
IMPORTANT...The parent permission/emergency form is included in this coach application. You will need your parent with you to complete the "parent/legal guardian" part of this form.

KLD 2019 COACHING RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:

COACH TENTATIVE TRAINING DATES & TIMES:
>>> Friday, June 14th from 12:00 - 5:00 pm @ Cooper Park, 500 Chesley Avenue, Mountain View
Note: This is the Friday before camp. It is mandatory for all coaches to attend. Topics will include camp policies and expectations, camp curriculum, and learning how to set-up, run, and break-down camp…as well as all the work that needs to happen to get camp ready for the first day of camp on the following Monday.

CAMP DATES & TIMES:
>>> Monday, June 17th to Friday, June 28th from 12:00 - 4:30 pm (No Saturdays or Sundays) @ Cooper Park, 500 Chesley Avenue, Mountain View <<<
Please note that coaches need to be at camp from 12:00 to 5:00 pm, but the campers are only there from 1:15 - 4:00 pm. The extra time for coaches is for pre-camp set-up and post-camp break-down.

CAMP LOCATION:
>>> Cooper Park, 500 Chesley Avenue, Mountain View <<< Please note: There is NO parking on the Eunice Avenue side of the park in the Primary Plus Daycare parking lot.

KLD camp is completely run by our high school coaches (with logistical and financial support provided by parents and other community adults). KLD Coaches NEED to be at camp EVERY DAY from 12:00 - 4:30 pm to set-up, manage, and break-down camp. Pre-camp training is also required prior to the start of camp. If your ability to make all the camp and/or training day will be limited due to other commitments, be sure to mention that in this application (we can sometimes make exceptions for situations we are told about AHEAD OF TIME).

Being a volunteer KLD Coach is an incredibly fun experience and offers many personal rewards, such as new friends, free food, and that great feeling you get from helping others. However, it is also a big responsibility that requires real commitment. Please make sure you can fulfill the responsibilities listed above (for example, check with your parents on vacation days) before you apply to be a KLD coach. Parents are welcome and encouraged to help at camp too.

Once KLD coaches are selected, all coaches 18 years of age or OLDER will need to be "LivesScanned" at Sunnyvale Police Department or other LiveScan locations, before the beginning of camp. This is basically a fingerprint and background check for adults who interact with kids - just like what AYSO and other youth programs require. We will provide you with the details on how to get this done during the training days and will reimburse you for any cost.
