Thanks very much for your interest in the Texada Aerospace Camp.

As of August 2025, it is anticipated that the 2026 camp will likely be held either:

Wednesday July 22 to Saturday July 25, 2026

or Wednesday July 15 to Saturday July 18, 2026

In 2025 the fee was $220 and this may or may not change. If it changes it will be by only a few dollars. The camp is NOT sleep over. Parents must arrange to get their youth to/from the Gillies Bay Airport each day.

The camp is STEAM based (science technology engineering art and math), and the purpose is to immerse youth aged 10 to 15 years in the basics of aviation and aerospace sciences. We use unique training aids specifically designed and built by experienced volunteers – aircraft maintenance engineers, software developers, pilots and scientists, among others.

The curriculum consists mainly of hands-on learning, combined with select engaging presentations.

Sample Texada Aerospace Camp lessons are:

• Principles of flight and aircraft construction
• Detailed flight simulator instruction
• Parachute basics
• Astrophysics
• Metal working class
• Aerospace careers
• Fire safety/fire extinguisher use
• We again hope for familiarization flights in a real airplane!

Camp check in is typically from 9:20 am to 9:35 am each day, and check out varies based on date. Up to 2025 it was as follows (but this may change for 2026):
