Writing Support Request Form
Part of our mission is to create a campus-wide writing culture, and to that end, we dedicate time and resources to support faculty, post-docs, staff, and graduate students in their writing and writing instruction. Fill out this form to give us a sense of what you are interested in, and we'll respond via email in a week's time (or less).

We offer:

CONSULTATIONS.
We can support you in making decisions about how to make your writing or writing instruction as smooth and productive as possible. Topics can range from working with multilingual writers, to managing time around grading, to organizing peer response activities, to advising graduate student writers, to creating a strong writing group, to testing note management software.

WORKSHOPS.
We can develop specific workshops focused on the needs of a group of writers (e.g., your colleagues or a group of students outside of a course.) Examples range from “Demystifying the Writing Process” for Commonwealth Honors College thesis writers, to “Writing as a Grad Student in the US Academy,” for multilingual and international graduate students, to “Responding to Student Writing” for TAs that evaluate student writing, to “Time Management and the Writing Process” for dissertating graduate students.

IDEAS?
If one of these options isn't right, please send us what you are thinking about. We are happy to collaborate.

Feel free to contact us with any questions (writingcenter@acad.umass.edu).

Are you interested in a Class Visit?
In addition to these ways we can support your group of writers, we also offer Class Visits (though we are happy to visit non-classrooms as well, like department meetings or club meetings). They are 10-15 minute presentations by a Writing Center tutor. In the presentation, the tutor will introduce your class to our Writing Center's philosophies, different strategies to use the Writing Center, what to expect in a session, and how to make an appointment. If you are interested in a class visit, you can check the box below and we'll reach out to you, or you can fill out this request form: https://goo.gl/forms/vXVfVvcCtqgQwkak2
