Completing Course Placement
As a student enrolling at Massasoit, you may have multiple options to satisfy your course placement requirements:

 1) Complete the College Placement Test - this test will be in the areas of reading, writing and math, and can be done either in-person at our Testing Lab on campus, or remotely from the convenience of your home or office.

2) Students choosing to complete the College Placement Test also have the option to use our Directed Self- Placement (DSP) option in place of the reading and writing portions of the exam. The DSP will allow you to view a video, receive a recommended placement and make your own choice about what level English course you will enroll in.

3) If you graduated from high school within the last 5 years, you may qualify for Multiple Measures Placement by using your cumulative high school GPA to determine placement. Multiple Measures also offers the opportunity to submit your SAT or ACT scores for placement. You will need to submit a high school transcript or official SAT or ACT Score Report for review.

4) Placement can be determined by prior college level credit earned.  You will need to submit your college transcript for review.
