The FMC Leadership Academy will prepare spiritual leaders for a successful future in church leadership. Courses are open to leaders and anyone interested in a leadership position at First Met. The first of 4 basic required courses is Church Doctrine at First Met, beginning in March. Each course lasts 4 weeks. Some of the key components of the academy are leadership preparation and development.

Leadership at First Met – MARCH, 2021

In this course, participants will examine the definition of a First Met Leader and the organizational structure of leadership at First Met. You will gain insight on how to develop strong interpersonal relationships. You will explore the practices of effectively attending to administrative tasks such as: planning and leading meetings, keeping team members engaged, setting boundaries and handling difficult situations. Leaders and future leaders who participate will also study the duties related to discipleship, mentoring and assessment strategies for work and ministry in the church.

Upcoming Course registration begins, 4 weeks before class starts
Spiritual Disciplines and Ethics – APRIL, 2021
Participants explore basic disciplines (e.g., prayer, fasting, worship, meditation, study, tithing, legacy, etc). Leaders will learn First Met’s standard for Christian living. Topics include technology and social media for the Kingdom, proper protocol, policies and practices.

Principles of Spiritual Leadership – MAY, 2021
Participants will learn requirements for serving in leadership positions and effective ways to communicate and use spiritual gifts. Current leadership opportunities at First Met will be explored.
