This includes services such as the NOW Waiver, the ROW Waiver, the Supports Waiver, or
Children’s Choice.
This area might also include Individual and Family Supports or Flexible Family Fund, respite services, childcare etc.
Do you see part(s) of the system that aren't equitable or fair for people with developmental disabilities or that contains barriers of any type to accessing them such as application processes or information processes that are difficult to navigate or unclear or in some cases simply not available?
It might be deficits in funding or problems/changes needed within these programs or these programs compared to other types of similar programs in other states for example.
We are looking for issues and instances that could require some type
of Legislative action, a law, an amendment, creating a task force, a needed rate study (DSW study is one recent ex.) etc. to remedy or fix the process or problem(s) at hand or even that would create new needed services that aren't already available that are missing from the available ones.
Send me your ideas or come prepared to discuss them (a list is always handy & can be given to me with any supporting information on how other states may address the issue(s) so we can submit that to the Council for review as well. This year is a fiscal year, so issues relative to funding will be the most likely to resonate with policymakers.
