Parents and students are encouraged to come work together in the Garden on project work days. Our garden coordinator, Katie Boehnlein, and Emily Spires will be in the garden assisting and directing work tasks, giving informative instruction along the way; some days we may have a guest instructor also. Bring gloves; if you have small garden tools, bring them too.
Parents are required to be present for Logos Community Garden activities with children under age 12.
Sign-up below to participate!
Please fill out one form per student. Younger children are welcome to come also, you will need to work with them and keep a close eye on them for their safety and the safety of the plants; no need to register them.
We are advancing in meeting our goal to create an interactive outdoor area that not only aesthetically enhances the school and its surroundings, but offers an opportunity for academic extensions to the classroom. The garden area consists of a series of raised beds and localized plots of both annual and perennial vegetation with a concentration on native and drought resistant species. While creating a pleasing atmosphere for the school and a place for students and families to gather outdoors, the garden is helping to complete our mission to utilize all food and biodegradable school wastes through composting.
Come on out and get your hands dirty!
