Cathedral Church of St. Paul, 4800 Woodward Avenue, Detroit
Confirmed Candidates : Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson, and more to come!
Michigan is electing a new governor in 2026, and the candidates need to hear from our community!
1300 Michiganders die from gun violence every year, and guns remain the number one cause of death for children. Our leaders must to do more. Please join End Gun Violence Michigan and all of our event co-sponsors for a candidate forum focused on the issues of gun violence and democracy. Candidates for governor will have the chance to go in depth on these critical issues.
Candidates will be asked to address the following topics:
-Protecting our schools & children.
-Suicide prevention.
-Community violence intervention.
-Domestic violence.
-Holding the gun industry accountable.
-Protecting our democracy.
Your participation matters! If we want change, we all need to show up to demonstrate how important community safety and democracy really are.
After the forum, we will host an organization fair so attendees can get involved with local groups that are working every day on these issues.
Space is limited! Register today to secure your spot.
NOTE:
*This is a non-partisan, 501c(3) compliant event. All candidates of all parties that meet our inclusion criteria have been invited.
*Questions will be prepared in advance by the organizers. There will be no questions from the floor.
