STEM Forward is excited to request your presence at the first ever STEM Day at the Olmsted County Fair! This event takes place on
Purpose: To engage fair attendees in hands-on STEM activities, fostering curiosity and confidence, and to provide insights into diverse STEM career pathways and educational opportunities.
Goal: To demonstrate that STEM is accessible and relevant to everyone, inspiring future participation in STEM subjects, programs, and competitions.
Format: A day dedicated to interactive exhibits and demonstrations from educational institutions, STEM-related businesses, government agencies, and non-profit organizations. Booth hosts will provide hands-on activities covering a wide range of STEM fields, including robotics, engineering, environmental science, technology, and health science. The Olmsted County Fair has graciously covered the cost of tents, tables, and chairs to provide shade and shelter. Electricity will be available.
Target Audience:
- Families with children of all ages: Engaging activities will cater to a wide range of interests and developmental levels.
- Students (K-6): The event will provide opportunities to explore STEM concepts and connect with potential career paths.
- Educators: Teachers and school administrators can discover new resources and ideas for STEM education.
- Community members: The event will offer a fun and educational experience for everyone.
Attendance Expectations: Last year at our inaugural event we had over 500 attendees and looking to double that this year with our partners and the fair. We are shooting to have all our partners locked in by May15th in order to promote the event and showcase our partners and their activities.
