Cultural Awareness Week
Roosevelt will have its annual Cultural Awareness Week during the week of January 27, 2020. This is a great opportunity for students to share aspects of their cultural background and traditions with the Roosevelt community.

On Thursday, January 30, 2020, the Cultural Awareness Committee will be hosting an evening event called "International Night" during Open House. We will have dances representing different countries, cultural tables (including items and food representing various countries), and a cultural dress parade. International Night will start an hour after Open House begins, so parents and students will have time to visit their classrooms and participate in the event. We will have dancing in the auditorium and cultural tables and dancing in the South Gym. Please complete the form below if your child(ren) would be interested in participating in this event! Any level of participation is welcome - we'd love to showcase several different cultures and traditions represented at Roosevelt.

If you are not able to participate in International Night, there will be other ways for families to participate in Cultural Awareness Week. More information on other ways to participate will be sent home closer to Cultural Awareness Week. In addition, throughout the week, students will be saying greetings in foreign languages during Roosevelt morning announcements. This is another way your child can participate - please complete the sections of this form for "Greetings" if your child(ren) would like to participate in morning greetings.
