The EUREKA! Nonfiction Children’s Book Awards was founded in 2000. Since then, it has become a robust, highly-respected, diverse, and comprehensive list of excellent children's nonfiction texts. Our mission is to celebrate excellence in nonfiction children’s books.

To be eligible for the EUREKA! Award, nonfiction book(s) must have been published in the years 2023-25. Books must be non-fiction, but can be in any genre including poetry, folktale/fairy tale, informational, biography, memoir, cookbook, self-help, reference, etc. At this time, we are NOT accepting self-published books, ARCs/F&Gs, or online copies. (If you submit an ineligible book, the committee will keep the book and your payment without reviewing the book. We do not have the time to return ineligible submissions.)
CHECKLIST:
(1) Complete this google form. You can submit 5 books at a time. But you can submit as many times as you like. For example, if you are submitting 16 books, then you should complete this form four times (5+5+5+1).
(2) Submit payment. Each book submission is $25. Please submit payment after completing this form. Books will not be reviewed until payment is received. You can pay online via PayPal after clicking the "Submit" button. If sending payment via check, please send payment to:

(3) Send submissions to each committee member before September 1, 2025. Do not send packages requesting a signature. Please indicate "EUREKA SUBMISSION" on package.

If your book is selected for recognition, we will send a notification letter and 10 stickers to the submitter(s). It is the responsibility of the submitter to send stickers to authors and illustrators.
Honorees Only: Additional Gold and Silver stickers can be purchased for $1.00 per sticker plus $5.00 handling. Please send requests to Dr. Virginia Loh-Hagan at
vloh-hagan@sdsu.edu. The use of the online seals (images) is free.
