JOIN OUR BOARD - Board Member Open Call
Orange County NY Arts Council (OCNYAC) seeks nominations or self-applications for the Board of Directors to begin board service February 2026. OCNYAC anticipates voting in 3-4 new board members at the February members meeting.

Please note the following information regarding board member service:
  • Service Length

    • 3-Year Terms

    • Can be re-elected twice (up to 9 years) - with extensions for leadership service permitted

    • Terms begin at Annual Meeting in February

  • Time Commitments

    • Participation in at least one board committee (min 4 meetings annually)

    • Current Full Board Meeting Schedule - 6 Required Meetings

      • Jan half-day “retreat”

      • Four quarterly weekday evening meetings (~2hrs)

      • Dec wrap up meeting and holiday party

      • NOTE: Four consecutive absences assumes resignation

    • Events and Operations volunteer support as needed 

  • Monetary Requirements

    • Minimum monetary contribution of $1,000

    • Participation in fundraising efforts is required

  • Additional service/assignments as needed
