We’re excited to explore the possibility of offering an immersion service-learning trip to New York this May! Our last immersion offered was in 2019, and we’re thrilled to bring back this meaningful opportunity. This transformative experience would fulfill your student's Christian Service requirement for next year while providing a powerful space to serve, reflect, and grow alongside their peers.
We recognize this is relatively short notice for planning a trip on this scale, but we’d still love to gauge interest and see if there are parents who would like their student to participate. We're hoping to gather a group of 8–12 students (current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors), with a minimum of 8 needed to move forward. If we don't meet this minimum, we'll have to cancel for this year.
Trip Details
-Where: The Center at Mariandale, New York
-When: May 23–30, 2025
-Cost: Estimated between $1,800–$2,200 (includes travel, individual room, and all meals)
-Service Credit: Fulfills student's entire Christian Service requirement for next year!
What to Expect:
-Engage with communities on the margins
-Learn about justice and advocacy from those directly impacted
-Explore the rich cultural and spiritual history of New York City
-Reflect on how service can become a lifelong practice
-Build community and meaningful relationships
-Enjoy one dedicated day exploring NYC, possibly including a Broadway show
