Registration - Roles 2017 18/5/17
We are delighted to announce that the 7th annual Roles Forum will take place on Thursday 18th May 2017 at University of Birmingham! The conference will be offering an interdisciplinary space, and we are looking forward to discussions and papers on diverse aspects of the study of Sexuality and Gender. This conference is organised by postgraduate students and is designed to provide a platform for presenting research to an audience of students and established academics alike.

Registation is free. Lunch, refreshments and a wine reception will be provided. Registration on the day from 9am.

The keynote speaker for Roles 7th Annual Conference will be Dr. Katharine Jenkins, who will be presenting ‘Gender Identity: A Guide for the Perplexed’ - see

The conference will take place in Gisbert Kapp building at University of Birmingham. The morning panels will be on third floor in room with flat floors and fixed seating, and the keynote talk and afternoon panels will be on the second floor, in a room with raked fixed seating and designated wheelchair spaces. The building does not have level access at the main entrance, though there is a permanent easy slope, and the rear entrance has a lift and step access with handrails. Inside the building the different floors can be accessed with lifts and stairs with handrails. Quiet rest spaces and gender neutral toilets will be available. Unfortunately we cannot subsidise travel costs.

Please find the conference access guide here:
