2027 Colorado Children's Book Award Ballot
The Colorado Children's Book Award was established by Dr. Bill Curtis in 1975 to encourage children's active involvement with books and reading. The CCBA committee is sponsored by Colorado Council of the International Reading Association.

CCBA Criteria:
-Each child must have read, or heard, a minimum of three books in order to vote.
-Each child may vote for a picture book and a junior book if they have read a minimum of three books in each category.
-We HIGHLY encourage nominations from students, up to 20 per school. Please give a tally of how many students nominate a particular title.
-Votes and nominations are due March 1, 2027.

Thank you for participating in CCBA!  Please fill in the ballot and submit your votes.  The CCBA committee will tally votes and let you know the winners after our mid-March 2027 meeting.  If you include your school address, we will send you CCBA stickers to place on the winners (if requested)!

Nominations for 2028 CCBA
We REALLY need and value nominations. Student nominations are crucial for next year's CCBA list.

1. Nominated books must be currently in print and published in the five years preceding the award year, and be for elementary aged audience.
2. Only one title per author will be included in each year's ballot.
3. Last year's WINNING authors are not eligible this year.
4. Titles previously nominated are not eligible for re-nomination in following years.
5. A title nominated by more than one school or library will be considered more heavily for inclusion in the final list.
6. Books based on movies, television shows, toys, video games, or apps are not eligible for nomination unless the book preceded the production.
7. Caldecott and Newbery Award books are not eligible. Honor books are eligible.
8. Once a book in a series has won, all other books in that series will not be eligible for nomination.
9. Children may vote for both one picture book and one junior book provided they have read a minimum of three books in each category.
10. Schools may nominate up to 20 titles.
11. PLEASE be sure to put the number of students who nominated the book.
