Parent Volunteer Opportunities
As a non-profit organization, DCC depends upon many volunteers who give their time and energy in support of the choir. Volunteers provide an amazing array of service and activities each year. The Parent Association provides a vehicle through which the parents/guardians of the choristers assist in the volunteer activities necessary for the operation of the choir and work together in promoting the choir and enhancing the experience for the choristers. Parents/guardians are automatically members in the Parent Association and are expected to be active and contribute in some way.
I am willing to serve on the following committees (Please select all that apply)
Uniforms: This committee is responsible for measuring the choristers for their uniforms (formal outfits and informal polo shirts) and for organizing the used uniform sale. The bulk of this work will be done at the beginning of the season.
Hospitality/Social: This committee is responsible for coordinating meals/refreshments when needed for DCC events (e.g. snacks or a meal during the retreats, end of year potluck). Depending on the scope of the event, they will solicit parent/guardian volunteers to assist with food donations, set-up, serving and clean up. Additionally, this committee will be responsible for organizing some social events for the choristers and/or DCC families a few times throughout the year.
Publicity: This committee is responsible for working with our administrative assistant on the advertising campaign for each DCC specific event. This may include the creation and distribution of posters, flyers, programs, mailers, news releases and postings to internet/newspaper current event calendars.
Fundraising: This committee is responsible for identifying and planning ways of raising money for the choir in general and for events such as travel. If the choir should decide to hold a major fundraiser, such as a Broadway Night/Silent Auction or a Gala, a separate committee may be organized to carry out the planning and execution.
