Fenway Cares is a collective of Fenway non-profit organizations that came together in March 2020 to help Fenway residents in need. We distribute nearly 400 free food bags twice a month on Wednesday afternoons in two locations in the East and West Fens.
This sign up form is for both the East and West Fens food distribution locations. Please indicate which site you would prefer to be placed. EAST is at Symphony Community Park at 39 Edgerly Road in the Fenway and WEST is at the Fenway Community CenterĀ at 1282 Boylston Street.
NOTE: Volunteers *may* be placed at either location based on need for the date(s) chosen. Once you have registered, you will receive a reminder email with information about your location.
Volunteer Expectations:
Volunteers will arrive between 1:45 PM - 2:00PM. The program usually lasts until supplies run out. Volunteers help unload the food from trucks, pack each bag with PPE and flyers, then coordinate roles for distribution. Volunteers will take roles from helping with those who are using walkers and wheelchairs to load bags, to those who are distributing bags from the table, and others who are replenishing from the reserves. We then all work together to pack up the boxes and tables at the end of the event. We need roughly 12 - 15 volunteers at the Symphony Park location and 5 - 8 volunteers for the Fenway Community Center location. We can't do what we do without the help of our volunteers so we thank you in advance for your support!
