Named to honor the founding director, this Merit Scholarship is awarded to students over age 12 who are:
1.) Demonstrating a positive attitude toward musical development (enthusiasm, commitment, and pride in all accomplishments).
2.) Preparing for weekly lessons and special performances.
3.) Cultivating artistic appreciation within the program and in the community.
4.) Practicing service and leadership in the community and within the Aber Suzuki Center.
Eligibility:
Students receiving this scholarship will meet the following criteria:
1.) Are enrolled in 6th through 11th grade.
2.) Have completed at least two consecutive semesters of study at the Aber Suzuki Center.
3.) Are currently enrolled.
4.) Demonstrate regular attendance at lessons, marathons, and group lessons.
5.) Practice Suzuki principles such as daily practice, listening, and regular review.
6.) Demonstrate regular participation in community outreach and performance for the Aber Suzuki Center and/or independently in the community.
7.) Is current with Aber Suzuki Center tuition.

2.) Up to five students will receive $300 per student in scholarship funds to be applied to their Aber Suzuki Center tuition.
3.) Student must be available for a 20 minute interview with the American Suzuki Foundation Scholarship Committee.
4.) Student must not have received this scholarship in the previous year.
5.) Scholarship funds will be applied to the student's fall semester Aber Suzuki Center tuition.
6.) Must submit musical resume to

Timeline:
1.) Student (not parent) completes and submits this application form and music resume by March 20, 2022 to
lynn@americansuzukifoundation.org2.) Week of April 18: Winners will be contacted by the ASF Scholarship Committee.
3.) Evenings of April 7 and April 12, 2022: Interviews with the ASF Scholarship Committee will be conducted.
4.) Week of April 18: Winners will be contacted by the ASF Scholarship Committee.
5.) Awards will be announced at the Spring Festival Concert on April 30, 2022.
Student must not have received this scholarship in the previous year.
