If you said yes to any of these questions, you need intersectionality!
Intersectionality is a way of thinking about identity that helps us analyze our lives and unique experiences by looking at how race, class, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, citizenship, and disability all come together. Understanding the ways in which identities overlap within one person can encourage us to be actively conscious of how people are affected differently by today’s political climate.
For the last Across the Bridge event, tying everything we have discussed throughout the year, we will bring in all of our experiences to make sense of who we are as individuals and as a community. We will dig into different aspects that shape your identity and how they intersect to help us combat discrimination and understand privilege.
