Creative Impact Summer Arts Online Registration Form 2017
Victoria Lopez is proud to present her 2nd annual Creative Impact Summer Arts Program in collaboration with the McAllen Creative Incubator for students’ ages 11 through 18. We strongly believe in the enablement and encouragement of artistic development in youth, whether it be through instruments, writing, painting, poetry, theatre, singing or technology. It is our goal that your child leaves this summer program with an enthusiastic, uplifted outlook in regard to a variety of mediums, styles and artistic opportunities’.

When: June 5th – June 16th
Time: 8am to 5pm
Where: The McAllen Creative Incubator
[601 N. Main St. McAllen, TX 78504]
Program Fee: $180 for two week instruction; $90 for one week instruction

Core Program Activities:

Writing: Curriculum will be led by Author/Poet, Victoria Lopez. Many superb aspects of writing will be introduced to the students; prose, poetry, free verse, fiction story writing, and haiku are ideal exercises to introduce writing styles which entertain self-expression rather than focusing on topic specification or academia persuaded formats.

Music: Instructed by Violist, Valerie Lopez. Valerie will introduce the ideology of musicality through rhythmic exercises, introductory musical understanding, classical study and composition. A musician is not simply one who reads notes, and plays as is, but instead is one who finds an emotional connection to that which they are either enjoying, or creating.

Theatre: This is more than your average theatre class! Collaboratively, all instructors will lead the students in writing, staging, casting, rehearsing and performing their own original play. All aspects of creativity will be entertained, and encouraged, throughout this unique endeavor. We are thrilled to have model and actor, Antonio Villarreal, join us as an acting coach and as a Creative Impact summer camp instructor!

Visual Arts: Various local artists, who specialize is different styles and mediums, will work with the students to introduce them to a wide range of techniques and niches. Whether it be pen on paper, brush on canvas, stenciling and graffiti, typography or watercolor – surely there will be a stylistic approach which best suits your child’s skill set. The talented Vanessa Lopez will be our art instructor and will share her approach and skills in regard to varying mediums.

We will be highlighting the opportunities’ offered to artists through technology, website structure, broadcasting, and social media. Basic coding instruction will be taught to the children by CODE RGV professionals and volunteers.

Special guests have been invited to speak, and or, to perform live art sessions for your children’s enjoyment and growth.

On Friday, June 16th at 6:30pm we will be holding a Creative Impact Summer Showcase to highlight all the work that has been completed by your children; including their artwork, musical presentation, and theatric performance. We strongly recommend that all parents attend this showcase to support their children’s diligent work. Refreshments will be available for all to enjoy.
