Dear Marketplace Vendor/On-Site Artist, Happy New Year! My name is Josie Blevins and I am the 2020 Asian Festival Marketplace Committee Chairperson and it is my third consecutive year being in charge of the Asian Festival Marketplace. I have been involved with the Asian Festival Organization for many years, helping out with the various committees. I very excited for this year's 26th Annual Asian Festival.
Application Instructions:
Thank you for your interest in participating in the Marketplace at the 2020 Asian Festival on Memorial Day Weekend, May 23, 2020 and May 24, 2020. The Asian Festival is held at Franklin Park, 1755 E. Broad St, Columbus, OH 43203. The festival hours are on Saturday, 5/23/20 from 10am-8pm and on Sunday, 5/24/20 from 10am-6pm.

The booth rental fee for Commercial Vendors are $350 (10'x10' white tent) and $700 (10'x20' white tent); and for Non-Profit Vendors, they are $300 (10'x10' white tent) and $600 (10'x20' white tent). Non-Profit Vendors will need to provide proof of status with a Tax-ID form along with their application. On-Site Artists will be charged a $200 space fee for a small assigned area in the Marketplace and will provide their own small table and chairs. Examples of On-Site Artists are face painting artists or balloon artists.

We also require a security deposit payment (must be paid on a separate check) for cleaning and will be returned Sunday evening at the end of the event and once your assigned area passes inspection. A $100 security deposit check or money order is required for Commercial and Non-Profit businesses regardless of the size of the booth rental space. The security deposit is $50 for On-Site Artists. Other items such as access to a power outlet or wire display panels can be requested for an additional fee as noted in the online application.

You must complete the online application/sign the release form, provide non-profit tax form (if applicable) and mail your payments by check or money order. Please make check or money order payable to Asian Festival. We are currently not set up to accept credit card or online payments. Asian Festival reserves the right to reject any application. You will be notified should we have concerns regarding your application. The deadline for all applicants is Monday, March 16, 2020. All payments and required forms must be received by this date.

You will receive an automated confirmation email after submission of your online application. I will confirm to you by email upon receipt of your payments.

For booth rentals, you MUST use and set up within the tent covering your booth space. No modifications to the tent will be allowed. You are not allowed to bring or set up your own tent. Some booths may have extra spaces to the sides, however, to be fair to all vendors you are not allowed to set up, sell, or provide any services in these extra spaces. If you need additional space, please purchase the 10'x20' tent booth space. No vehicles/trailers are allowed as part of the vendor's booth area in the Marketplace.

Marketplace vendors/on-site artists will have designated locations for parking with free shuttlebus service to and from Franklin Park. Vendors/on-site artists will be allowed to bring their vehicles in the park for set up early Saturday and Sunday morning but set up must be completed by 9am and all vendors/on-site artists vehicles must be out of the park by 9am.

Applications will be processed on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis.
Your submission of the online application (with signed release form) will temporarily hold your spot on the list. We must receive your payments and non-profit tax ID from (if applicable) 14 days after you submit your online application/signed release form to confirm your spot. If we do not receive these within 14 days, you will lose your spot on the list and you will be given the next available spot when your payments and required forms are received. The process of assigning booth locations will be based on your spot on the list. I will take into consideration not putting similar business near each other.
A detailed description of the merchandise you are intending to sell at the Asian Festival is required for our review.
The goal of the marketplace is to allow our vendors to sell Asian-related merchandise. However, we do allow a small portion of vendors to sell non-Asian related merchandise. Merchandise that may appear violent (knives, guns, alcohol, drugs), vulgar, or tobacco related are prohibited. Asian Festival reserves the right to reject any application. You will be notified should we have concerns regarding your merchandise. Failure to comply will result in being banned from future festivals.
A Peddler’s License for the two day event will be provided by the Asian Festival. Liability Insurance is NOT required but is highly recommended. The Asian Festival organization will not be responsible for any accidents or injuries that occur in your booth space(s). We encourage you to either obtain your own liability insurance or you may purchase liability insurance through the Asian Festival that will cover you during the event for $60.00. If you decide to do this, please add $60.00 to your booth rental check or money order.
