Tony Hu, PhD, is the Founding Dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering at Tsinghua University in China, Dr. Hu is a pioneer in the field of "intelligent molecular diagnostics." His work focuses on integrating nanotechnology and multi-omics to create highly sensitive blood tests that find previously undetectable disease biomarkers. He recently made headlines for developing a smartphone-sized device capable of rapidly testing for tuberculosis—a breakthrough that is revolutionizing pediatric TB care and diagnostic accessibility in low-resource settings.
