In order to obtain access to eRETA and receive a User ID, each user must complete three steps. These steps are as follows:
1) Complete all required fields below and agree to the "GSA IT General Rules of Behavior" and acknowledge the eRETA Access Rules
2) Complete the "eRETA Application Clearance Verification Form" available at www.gsa.gov/ereta. This form is required by GSA's Personnel Security Office. Because this form requests Personally Identifiable Information (PII) please only share it with your Agency's Personnel Security office (or Human Resources Office) and GSA's Personnel Security Office. Full instructions on how to send this information securely to GSA are provided on the form.
3) After your request has been processed and all approvals have been granted**, the GSA National Application Helpdesk will send a verification email to the email address provided below. Follow the steps in that verification email to finalize your account.
**Due to 3-4 offices which each handle a different aspect of the application process , we cannot provide an expected turnaround time between Step 2 and 3.
