LTC 2016 Registration Form
Leadership Training for Christ will be held at the Anatole Hotel, March 25-26, 2016. Students in grades 3-12 are eligible to participate. The theme for LTC this year is "Refuge" taken from Ruth 2:12. Below, you will choose the events that your child would like to participate in. A coordinator will be in contact with you soon. Please choose the events your child will be participating in. These events are completed prior to the LTC convention.
Bulletin Board Challenge- teams of three will create a bulletin board on the LTC theme to display in the church building.
Daily Devotional Challenge- Daily bible reading and prayer following a set plan as well as keeping a daily prayer journal. Open to grades 3-12.
Leadership Challenge- Open to grades 9-12 who would like to train younger participants in an LTC event.
Reading Challenge- Read aloud from the Bible in a public forum, including a brief introduction before each reading. Open to grades 3-12.
Outreach Challenge- This event provides opportunities for students to share their faith. Open for grades 3-12.
Scripture Challenge- This is a memorization of scripture event. Open to grades 3-12.
Service Challenge- LTC manual includes a detailed listing of suggested service projects. Open to grades 3-12.
Song Leading Challenge- Student will choose a song from a list provided to lead at Westhill. Open to grades 3-6.
Teaching Challenge- Student will help prepare/and teach a class at least 3 years younger than the participant. Open to grades 3-12.
These events are to be submitted to the coordinator of your event by February 17th.
Audio Broadcast- A 30-60 second presentation of Biblical messages through the audio medium. Open to grades 3-12.
Essay- A 250-500 word article addressing this year's LTC theme. Open to grades 3-12.
Fiction- Student will type a short story that reflects this year's LTC theme. Open to grades 3-12.
Impact Video- Individual or team event. Produce a short video that illustrates the current year's LTC theme. Open to grades 3-12.
Poetry- Student will write a poem that reflects the current year's theme. Open to grades 3-12.
Powerpoint Presentation- Individual or team (up to 3) event. Students will create a 10-40 slide PowerPoint presentation. Open to grades 3-12.
Short Film- Create a theatrical script based on the current year’s LTC theme and act it out. Open to grades 3-12.
Song Writing- Write an original a cappella composition relating to the current year's theme. Open to grades 3-12.
Video Bible Drama- Students will dramatize a Bible story that illustrates the current year's LTC theme. Open to grades 3-12.
Webpage-Design an accessible website for either the congregation or the youth group that represents the theme. Open to grades 3-12.
Children's Book- Students will write and illustrate a children's book that reflects this year's LTC theme.
Scrapbook- Team event that will provide a pictorial and written documentation of leadership development within a congregation in the last year.
Students can only choose ONE art piece to submit at the LTC convention.
These events take place at the convention. If you are attending the convention, we are recommending that each student choose at least 2 of these events. All of these events are open to grades 3-12.
Bible Bowl- Teams of four will answer multiple choice questions over Joshua, Judges, and Ruth.
Drama- Students will act out an 8 minute modern-day application of any Christian truth, with respect to the current year's theme.
Bible Reading- Students will give a brief introduction and read a passage from the Old or New Testament.
Song Leading- Student will choose a song from a list given to lead singing to a group of people at LTC.
Large Chorus- Students will prepare to sing a variety of a cappella songs that reflect on this year's LTC theme.
Small Chorus- A group of 2-8 members that prepare to sing a variety of a cappella songs that reflect on this year's LTC theme.
Puppets- Students will learn an appropriate puppet script, related to the current year's LTC theme, and present it live.
Speech- Students will prepare a 3-6 minute speech on biblical principles that reflect on this year's LTC theme.
