Broader Impacts Design Project
With support from the National Science Foundation* (NSF), three museum and university partnerships across the country, including the Discovery Building and UW-Madison led by WISCIENCE, are bringing researchers and community partners together to develop sustainable partnership models and resources to support innovative, high quality Broader Impacts (BI) initiatives associated with federally-sponsored research. The NSF’s intention for BI is to ensure that research benefits society and contributes to specific societal outcomes including public understanding and appreciation of science, participation in science, the development of a diverse and talented STEM workforce for the future, teaching, training and education at all levels, and the formation of new partnerships with community, industry and more.
