The working definition on stakeholder engagement for this breakfast is the following:
''Stakeholder engagement is the process used by an organisation to engage relevant stakeholders for a clear purpose to achieve agreed outcomes. It is now also recognised as a fundamental accountability mechanism, since it obliges an organisation to involve stakeholders in identifying, understanding and responding to sustainability issues and concerns, and to report, explain and answer to stakeholders for decisions, actions and performance.' (AccountAbility 1000, AA 1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standard, 2015)
The purpose of the breakfast will be to:
- challenge you to think of the main struggles you and your organisation are facing when it comes to stakeholder engagement - exchange ideas and best practices with other like-minded professionals - work together to develop a set of Guidelines on Mastering and Managing Stakeholder Engagement
On our side, Third-i would also like to invite you to use the Guidelines on Mastering and Managing Stakeholder Engagement after the breakfast, and to apply them to your day-to-day work.
One of you will also gain the opportunity to discuss their stakeholder engagement challenges during a special personalised session with the Third-i team in the weeks following the breakfast event.
We look forward to welcoming you on 23 May at the Third-i Offices, The Library, Square Ambiorix 10, and we remain at your disposal for any questions you may have.
