What you'll need to do!
  1. Collect your sample.

  2. Record footage of your sample using your microscope and a camera. You do not need to worry about recording audio as it will not be used in the episode.

  3. Make sure to note the total level of magnification (eyepiece magnification x objective magnification) you’re using in your footage.

  4. Compile as much information as you can about your sample and how you collected it.

  5. Upload the footage to Dropbox, Google Drive, or anywhere else that allows us to download the file, and have that download link ready to go before proceeding through this form.

Sampling Safety Tips

Microscopy is a safe hobby, but there are mistakes you can make.

  • Do not enter private property without permission.
  • Be careful not to collect samples if you have open wounds, scratches or cuts.
  • Use caution when you are dealing with sharp objects and glassware.
  • Wash your hands after handling samples and checking your microscope.
  • Keep your samples out of reach of children and pets
  • To prevent the spread of invasive species, be careful not to transfer specimens to other natural environments.
