Votes at 16 Survey
Lately there has been increase talk about lowering the voting age to 16. At 16 you can enter into marriage or civil partnership, pay income tax and national insurance, obtain social security benefits, become a company director, consent to medical treatment and join the armed forces. However you can’t vote.

During the Scottish referendum 16 and 17 year olds were given the opportunity to vote and there were significant levels of engagement by young people during the referendum. The Wales Act 2017 provides the Welsh Assembly with the power to lower voting age for its elections.

I want to hear from you about whether 16 and 17 year olds should be given the vote.
