UMSL - Group Tour Interest Form

Thank you so much for your interest in scheduling a group tour at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

To schedule your group tour, can you answer the following questions below to help finalize your tour experience. Once we receive this information, we will send you an email confirmation and calendar request.

Please note that campus tours are walking and will take a minimum of 1.5 hours to complete.

  • High School and Transfer Students - Tours will include a 30 - minute information presentation and a 60 - minute campus tour. With an optional tour of our residence hall (additional 45 minutes to an hour).
     
  • Middle School/Junior High Students - Tours will include a 30 - minute presentation and 60 minute campus tour. Students 8th grade and younger cannot have access to the residence hall.

Chaperone Requirements:
Chaperones will always be required to accompany groups and maintain order within the group during the visit. Our required ratio is as follows: 
  • High School: 1 adult for every 15 students
  • Middle School: 1 adult for every 10 students.

Please note: tours of Oak Residence Hall are only available to High School students and take an additional 45 minutes to an hour on top of the 1.5 hours for the campus tour.

Please note: presentations from other academic departments and other student service departments are subject to availability.
Conduct on campus

  • Please set expectations with your group to be respectful of the Admissions staff and tour guides. Disruptive behavior at any time during a tour or presentation, including inappropriate questions towards our campus representatives, will not be tolerated. Students who disrupt the tour, damage property, or exhibit inappropriate behavior will be asked to leave the tour and be escorted by the chaperone back to the bus or group meeting spot.
  • Chaperones are responsible for managing students’ behavior and for staying with students the entirety of the campus tour.
  • We ask that our visitors be respectful of the learning environment and be quiet when touring buildings where classes are in session.
  • Please refrain from using cell phones, listening to music, etc. during presentations and the campus tour. Recording of the presentations and campus tours are prohibited without prior authorization. Please contact Jenna Haddock for approval – visit@umsl.edu or (314) 516-7769
The University of Missouri – St. Louis reserves the right to end the group visit if these conditions are not met.

What happens if bad weather is forecasted?

Tours will be given rain or shine; pending severe weather forecast. We will notify you if we are unable to give the tour due to inclement weather. Please communicate with your students the importance of wearing comfortable shoes and dressing for the weather. 

What if we are running behind schedule on our way to UMSL?

Arriving on time is important. Our Triton Leaders’ schedules are set to accommodate their classes. In the event of a late arrival, we will offer an abbreviated presentation, but we will be unable to alter the tour time. Please contact the Welcome Center as soon as possible to inform us of your late arrival, 314-516-4104.

What if we need to cancel our visit?

If you find it necessary to cancel your visit, please notify us as soon as possible, and would ask at least a days notice. To cancel, please email the Campus Visits team at visit@umsl.edu
