University of Northern Iowa Open Textbook Workshop Application Form
The University of Northern Iowa is sponsoring an Open Textbook workshop.
When: Friday, October 21, 2016, 1-3 p.m.
Location: Rod Library 287 [Old browsing room located on main floor]
University of Northern Iowa faculty are invited to apply by October 7, 2016. Capacity is limited and open textbooks are not available for all subject areas. Preference will be based on textbook subject area availability.
After the workshop, participants will be asked to write a short review of an open textbook. Your review will benefit other faculty considering open textbooks.
If selected. You will receive a $200 stipend for your participation and written review.
The workshop is sponsored by the Office of Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and Rod Library.
Classes/Courses you teach: Please provide descriptive course names as well as course numbers. This information will help us gauge whether or not relevant open textbooks exist for your field.

The Open Textbook workshop is a project of the University of Minnesota's Open Textbook Library. The workshop is run by Rajiv Jhangiani from the University of Minnesota's Open Textbook Network. Funding for the workshop is provided by the Hewlett Foundation. The Open Textbook Workshop is part of Open Education Week

I advocate for open educational practices and conduct research on open textbooks, teaching & learning, and political psychology.
I am a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and currently serve as an OER Research Fellow with the Open Education Group, a Faculty Workshop Facilitator with the Open Textbook Network, the Associate Editor of NOBA Psychology, and an Associate Editor of Psychology Learning and Teaching.
