O'Malleyism 2024? Are you interested?
I'm thinking of trying to put together a conference to talk about some of the ideas I write about on my Substack.

I think it'd be fun to host a day of discussions on topics like housing, infrastructure, climate, and postcodes – but with a focus on policy interventions that will work, and crucially the political strategy to make them happen. The idea is to avoid the bullshit (or keep bullshit down to manageable levels), and figure out how to actually build the future.

My thinking is that it'd be a one day event on a weekend (probably a Saturday), and it would be ultra-DIY, so don't expect anything fancy. I'd charge for tickets to cover basic costs, but my intention wouldn't be to rake in the big bucks with it. (Premium subscribers would get first dibs at tickets though.)

Oh, and it would be in London, not just because we're all out of touch, metropolitan elites, but because that would be most convenient for me.

So would it be a good idea? Fill in this form and tell me if you're interested! Answer as many or as few of the below questions as you like.

Would you be interested in attending a one day O'Malleyism conference on a Saturday at some point this year? *
What topics would you like to see covered at such an event?
Who would be a good person to try and get to speak at the conference? Ideally someone I can realistically book (I think Bill Gates and Barack Obama are both busy the weekend I'm thinking.)
Would you be interested in speaking, or appearing on a panel at the event? What can you talk about? (The fee would probably be "I'll buy you a drink at the pub after".)
Would you conceivably be interested in volunteering to help run the event? (eg, checking tickets, or whatever).
Clear selection
What is the maximum amount of money you'd be willing to pay for a ticket? (Ideally I'd make it pretty cheap, but I'm not sure about the economics of this yet.)
Here's a box for anything else you'd like to write.
