Andago User: Theoretical Test
Please complete the test below. Only one answer is possible for each question. Check your performance right after completing the test.
How is an appropriate harness size selected?
Harness size is not important for Andago
Any size that fits the patient is ok
The size where the distance between the edges of the harness on the patient's chest is about one hand and there is no overlapping at any point
What should be done to finish a therapy session with the Andago?
Press reset button, move the lift down until the patient is sitting in the wheelchair (or standing stable), detach harness
Reduce BWS, detach harness
Press stop, detach harness
What are the main steps for Andago training?
Lift the patient, select BWS type, select training mode, select maximum speed
Lift the patient, select BWS amount, select fall limit, select training mode, select maximum speed
Select BWS type, select BWS amount, select training mode, select maximum speed
What is the default fall limit for?
To provide a safe vertical displacement range to the patient
To adjust the vertical displacement to a position where patients can perform gait and step training
To do balance exercises
The patient is close to 200 cm tall and wants to go through a door with the Andago, what should be done?
Adjust the fall limit. It needs to be at the lowest position
Make sure that the carrier height is lower than the door. If not, use the upper buckles to attach the harness to the Andago (and, if still needed, lower the carrier temporarily until the door has been passed)
Adjust the lift height. Move it down until the Andago passes through the door
If you want to do bending exercises (like squats or partial sit-to-stand), what should be modified?
Move the lift down (so that the carrier position is higher then the default fall limit)
Move the lift up (so that the carrier position is lower than the default fall limit)
Change the BWS and keep default fall limit
If the Andago is slightly shifted to the left while the patient tries to walk straight, what should be modified?
Change BWS type
Press the right arrow on the picture above
Press the left arrow on the picture above
The device frequently stops while the patient is walking and you get the following message on the display. What should be done?
Move the lift down (increase fall limit)
Move the lift up (reduce fall limit)
What should be done if the Andago is set to patient following mode but only moves straight?
Select turning offset
Check the display if the carrier is frequently at the upper limit of the dynamic range. If so, move the lift up
Increase the Body Weight Support to provide more assistance
Can the patient be left without any supervision during Andago training?
Yes, unless there are stairs nearby
Patients can train on their own, but always at least under (limited) therapist supervision
Sure, the therapist can treat other patients meanwhile since Andago protects the patient to fall
Can the Andago be used on ramps?
Yes, but only under supervision
Yes, Andago can be used on ramps with an inclination up to 20°
No, Andago is designed to be used on flat surfaces only
Can patients train with the Andago close to stairs?
No. The Andago cannot be used close to stairs and it is the therapist's responsibility to ensure that the training area is safe
Yes, but only if the stairs are wide enough to accommodate the Andago
Yes, patients are free to train near stairs and to go up and down stairs with the Andago
