The Impala Racing Team is a group of women of all ages and many ability levels, who are dedicated to racing in Northern California, with a primary focus on the PA/USAT&F Grand Prix road, cross-country, track, and MUT circuits (https://www.pausatf.org/). Members are expected to participate in coached workouts in San Francisco (we have weekly workouts on Tuesday evenings, with some Saturday morning workouts as well) and participate in races according to individual and team goals. We also encourage participation in fund raising, social events, and community volunteering throughout the year. Although this amounts to a substantial commitment of time and energy, you will find that racing with the Impalas will generously repay you for that effort and help you reach your running potential. During open periods of membership, accepted candidates are invited to participate in 4 team workouts so that we can get to know prospective new members. We prefer these workouts to be as consecutive as possible to demonstrate commitment and dedication to team activities. The focus during this "trial period" is to get a sense of commitment to showing up to practice and compatibility with team members and the team's goals. After this period of time, the Impala Board of Directors will determine whether it is appropriate to extend an invitation for membership.
