High Performance Camp takes place between Friday 6th and Thursday 12th December 2024, Manwatu/Taranaki.

Applications open to those aged 17 and over.

This is a high performance camp open to orienteers competing or aspiring to compete at JWOC, World Cup, and WOC and participants must be selected to attend. The camp focuses on technical, physical and mental preparation for competition at international level (e.g. JWOC/WUOC). Demonstrated achievement at national level and a high degree of fitness are required.  Numbers are limited to 35 with final attendance numbers dictated by the strength of applicants. Those attending should have run 20E or 21E at the 2024 New Zealand Championships, and will be expected to be running in one of these grades at the Oceania Championships. Exceptions may be made in 2024 as we transition from the immediately-post-covid years when eligibility requirements were more flexibile.

Coaches for the Junior Camp are encouraged to apply to attend the HP Camp.

Coaches for Junior Camp
Applicants may indicate if they are available to be coaches at the Junior Camp to be held 13-18 December, which is based in New Plymouth. Coaches applying to be part of the coaching team must be at least 17 years of age, in year 13 or have left secondary school. Coaches will be working under Head Coaches Kaia Joergensen and Jenni Adams.

Previous coaching experience is desirable, and may have come in contributions to school teams, previous junior camps or regional camps.  Less experienced coaches are also welcome, and will receive experience working alongside the more experienced coaches.  Coaches are encouraged to apply to attend the HP camp.
