Nature Matters Archive Film Screening at Redcar Palace

Redcar Palace is delighted to announce a film screening in collaboration with 'Nature Matters' and The North East Film Archive, showing North East allotment and gardening archival footage. It will be shown in the last week of our exhibition, 'Grow and Gather' on Wednesday 19th of July. Refreshments provided.

Date: Wednesday 19th July 18:30-20:00

Location: Redcar Palace, 28-29 The Esplanade, The Hub, Redcar, TS10 3AE

Price: FREE!

Length: including discussion 90mins

This screening explores how nature has been used, abused and lived alongside. It will ask questions of what we have done to our fellow species, what are we doing now, and how can we adapt our behaviours and habits to create a more equitable space.

The screening is presented by Martha Cattell, delivery manager for Nature Matters and will take you on a journey through our archives, exploring the changing climate of Yorkshire and the North East. You will see themes that traverse time: from weather, wildlife, access to land, pollution, and activism.

How has the climate changed? What might it look like in the future? And what role does film play in telling this narrative?

This screening is part of the Yorkshire and North East Film Archives new 'Nature Matters' project which is supported by National Lottery Heritage Fund.
